Fundamentals
Elements
To understand the organization of Moiki EDU, you need to distinguish three elements: stories, projects, and workshops.
Stories
These are your interactive narratives. You can write them from scratch or import them from the catalog.
Story card
Projects
A project is an educational activity you prepare.
Project card “reading path”
There are two types of projects:
- Reading paths: a project based on a story. Students read and explore the proposed story.
- Writing workshops: a project without a predefined story, where students create their own narratives.
Workshops
A workshop is an activity shared with one or more classes.
Workshop card “reading path”
- For a reading path, you can track your students’ progress: items collected, sequences explored, time spent, etc.
- For a writing workshop, you can access your students’ productions in read-only mode and test their stories with the reader.
How it works
In Moiki EDU, everything starts with a project. This can take two forms: a reading path (linked to a story) or a writing workshop (where students create their own content). Once your project is ready, you can share it with your classes by creating a workshop.
Reading path
A reading path links a story to educational tracking.
You can:
- Create your own path: write a story, link it to a “reading path” project, then open a workshop for your classes.
- Use the catalog: import a ready-made project, then launch the workshop for your students.
Writing workshop
A writing workshop is a space where your students become authors themselves. Again, two approaches are possible:
- Create from scratch: start a new “writing workshop” project, then open a workshop for your classes.
- Use the catalog: import an existing project and turn it into a writing workshop for your students.
- As long as a story is used in a project, you cannot delete it.
- When a project has ongoing workshops, it becomes read-only (as does the linked story for a reading path).
Catalog
You can enrich your activities through the catalog:
- Import ready-made projects (with their story included, if it’s a reading path).
- Publish your own projects to make them available to other teachers.
